Are You a Collector?

by Lee Rogers on December 30, 2011

If you are, you should join the 2packrats community for collectors!

Our community gives you the opportunity to share your passion and knowledge with like-minded collectors -- and it is free.

A collector is someone who collects cool stuff! Pretty simple, huh? How do you know if you are a collector? Well, a collector is someone who has 3 or more of any one thing. Got 3 or more glass animals-- you are a glass animal collector. Got 3 or more comic books -- you collect comic books.

Serious collectors also consider the quality of the items they collect. If you simply keep things regardless of their value or quality, you are more likely a hoarder rather than a collector. A true collector knows the history, value and significance of the stuff sitting on his shelves, filling up his garage, or on display throughout his den.

Why be a Collector ?

There are many reasons to become a packrat. One that we like is that if you collect something, it makes it much easier for your friends and family to buy you presents! How hard is it for all of us to select a gift for someone? But if you know they collect something, just give them another one and everyone will be happy. Of course, your gift should be unique and not just a repeat of something they already have.
